MA Maritime Civilizations (Underwater & Coastal Archaeology)

This unique program is an exceptional opportunity to literally dive deep and discover human-sea relations from ancient to modern times. With the Mediterranean Sea as a natural lab, you will explore the history, archaeology, anthropology and fabric of seafaring societies underwater, on shore and in cutting-edge laboratories on campus. Combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on active research, you will explore harbors, ships and societies to understand human-sea interactions and challenges.   
MA Heritage Management - NEW!

SAMC's newest international MA Heritage Management is the first and only program in Israel that bridges the past and future by preserving and managing archaeological, historical and cultural legacies. Hands-on real-world experience is a cornerstone of the program, including unparalleled access to local and global heritage sites and institutions such as UNESCO, ICOMOS, Israel's National Nature & Parks and Antiquities Authorities. Its multidisciplinary curriculum encompasses all aspects of Heritage Management for impactful careers in academic, educational and governmental sectors.  
MA Archaeology

Based in Mount Carmel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and dynamic center for prehistoric research, this program presents unmatched opportunities to dig into archaeological sites that bridge between Africa, Asia, and Europe. Through hands-on fieldwork uncovering 500,000 years of human evolution in caves, rock shelters, and open-air sites, you will gain insights into early human expansion out of Africa, interactions between modern humans and Neanderthals and the evolution of human societies from hunter-gatherers to complex agricultural societies.

UHaifa's International MSc in Archaeological Sciences represents the future of archaeology. The first and only one in Israel that offers a science-oriented approach to archaeology, the program is dedicated to pushing knowledge boundaries of ancient civilizations through advanced scientific methods. Students examine archaeological materials using innovative analytical technologies that help them gain a deeper understanding of ancient history and cultures than what is currently known. Its unique curriculum combines theoretical knowledge together with experiential learning through lab work, fieldtrips and study excavations. The program's collaboration with the Technion – Israel's Institute of Technology, presents unmatched research opportunities at the cutting edge of archaeological science.
